Kooringal Care
Always start by reading and following any care labels or instructions attached to your hat. This is the most reliable source of information for maintaining your Kooringal.
Before you clean...
- Check the material.
- Check for a care and wash instruction label. If there is one, the instructions on the label supersede the information below.
- Know the age of your hat and assess how dirty it is – it may be worthwhile preserving the memories of well-loved hats and opting for a replacement instead.
Spot Cleaning
- Spot cleaning is the safest method for maintaining your Kooringal hat.
- Patch test your spot cleaning method first - look for a small and hidden part of your hat that won't be noticeable if any damage or colour changes occur. This could be the inside lining or a seam on the interior.
- Dab any marked areas with a damp cloth. Do not rub the material.
- If needed, use a mild, non-bleach detergent or dish soap. Again, it is recommended you patch test this first.
- Allow your hat to dry indoors.
Hand Washing
- If needed, hand washing may be an option for cotton and synthetic caps and hats. Be sure to consider all trims and other materials attached to your hat. If you are unsure, spot cleaning is the safest method for maintaining your Kooringal hat (see above).
- Be sure to test your hand cleaning method first - look for a small and hidden part of your hat that won't be noticeable if any damage or colour changes occur.
- Use cold water only. Never use warm or hot water.
- If needed, use a mild, non-bleach detergent or dish soap. Again, it is recommended you patch test this first.
- Allow your hat to dry indoors.
